GreenHearts Team July Blog Hop "Anything Goes"

Hello and welcome to the July GreenHearts Close to my Heart Team Blog Hop.  If you came here from Sandra's Blog, you are on the right path.

This month, the team is featuring different items from the Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book.

Today, I am showcasing the Close to my Heart Paper Fundamentals - Basic Assortments.

I really love how versatile these cardstock based papers are and you get 20 double-sided 12" × 12" sheets (2 each of 10 designs); same design on both sides, one side with a glossy resist pattern.

Here is the layout I made using two different colors of the Paper Fundamentals.

I used the CTMH Cricut Cartridge Artbooking to make the Bamboo colored overlay as well as the Always & Forever saying.

All embellishments are from Close to my Heart:
Bronze Shimmer Tape
Chocolate Stripped Ribbon (retired)

Cocoa Ribbon (retired)
Bliss Assortments (retired)
Pearl Flourishes (retired)

I am a strong believer in using what you got.  I know alot of people who buy stuff but afraid to use it just in case they need it.  Well, guess what, use it, you can always get something else for the next layout.  LOL!!!

I hope you liked my layout.  Leave me a comment before heading over to Pam's Blog to see what she used for her blog hop.

Farewell Card for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog

Here is a card I made for a co-worker who is moving on to new challenges.  She also happens to be a very dear friend and a fellow scrapbooker and Close to my Heart Consultant (I wonder who signed her up lol).

I am also submitting this in the Heart 2 Heart Challenge "Bows and Bowties"

I like going on Pinterest for inspiration.  Well, I did not need to go very far, I checked out my scrappy friend Julie's Pinterest board and found this card she made.

I wanted to do another easel card so my friend Isabelle can display it at her new job.  I chose the Ariana papers to make this card since I have not used this beautiful paper to make any cards or layout (yet).

I made the flowers with the Close to my Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and inked them with Outdoor Denim ink before twirling with the quilling tool.  I placed a Opaque Pearl in the center of each flower.  I used organdy White Daisy ribbon to make the bow.
The metallic embellishments are from last catalogue's Base & Bling line and of course the Ariana Assortment Accessories.

Everything on the card is from Close to my Heart.

I hope you like it.  Let me know your thoughts.

Challenge #3 - Seize the Sketch (#21)

I had time to play another Challenge and This time, I only chose one Challenge.  I made this on Friday and I was a bit tired after the week at work.

Here is the Seize the Sketch Challenge

I used the Close to my Heart Balloon Ride Paper Pack (X7180B) and Windy Day (D1579) Stamp Set.  The Embossing image is a Tim Holtz design.  Inks used are black for the stamping and Sorbet, Cashmere for the distressing.

The techniques used on this card include ink distressing and paper piecing (meaning, I stamped the image on different paper/cardstock and cut it out in pieces and place them on top of one another).

I love how it turned out.  What are your thoughts?

GreenHearts Ivy Lane Blog Hop

Hi there and welcome to the Greenhearts CTMH Blog Hop! This month we are featuring the Ivy Lane My Reflections Paper pack by making two cards.

If you are coming from Pam's Blog, you are on the right path!

My first card for the hop was made for my Scrappy Friend Julie.  Our birthday's are 10 days apart and I always look forward in making her card.  I know that she will cherish it for years to come and not throw it out.  It is a 5x7 size card.  For some reason, I am unable to make smaller cards.  I find that I don't have enough space for everything I want to add.

I love all the CTMH Cricut Cartridges, especially the flowers that you can make with them.

The flowers on this card are made with Art Philosophy.
The scallop square was made with the Artbooking Cartridge.

Another added feature this year to CTMH are the embossing folders.  Here I used the Quatrefoil folder.

All materials are from CTMH except the black ribbon.  Colors include Hollyhock, Smokey Plum, Sweet Leaf and Black.

On to my second card which I am really excited to share with you.

I've been seeing alot of the easel cards and said to myself that I needed to make one for this hop.  I searched Google for Easel Card Template/Tutorials and found lots of example.  The size of this card is 5.5" x 5.5".

Again, I used the Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut out the flowers, leaves and the squares.
The stamps sets are Dreamer (B1439), Feathers (C1584) and Banner Wishes (B1438).

All materials are CTMH Products.

Well, I hope that you like my cards, please feel free to leave me a comment before hopping over to my Scrappy Friend Julie's Blog for her take on this challenge.
